We started in this adoption with Brian and Debbie in late 2006, as we had both been praying for our Father’s guidance on what to do in regards to taking these steps that we really did not know where it would lead our families. As you can see from their family picture, they have already been down this road by bringing this little beauty, Jessica, home a few years ago. They have been so blessed by this journey, they decided it was their call to go again. I can tell you that our family has been so glad that they did this. So many times over the years, we have called Debbie at odd hours, or with urgent requests, only to be calmed by her correct answers and peace. She definitely has been a huge help to us, as an inexperienced adoptive family.
We think it is so neat how we started on this path so long ago, walked the same steps together up until we were logged in on June 20, 2007 (LID) in Beijing. We have completed our 18-month I-600A updates together twice. We received phone calls from GWCA within 3 days of each other the week of June 20th on being locked in for our Waiting Children. Now we are going to be in Hong Kong and Guangzhou together to start and end the trip together. In a process where thousands of dossiers go down this road, it is definitely provincial that we get to finish this process together, with our US Consulate appointments even being within one hour of each other on October 18th and with them scheduled to land in Nashville one hour before us on the 21st.
This awesome family leaves Nashville on Tuesday of this week to lay the groundwork for us as we will meet them in Hong Kong one day later. (We are SO GLAD that Brian and Debbie are going ahead of us. I cannot imagine if it was the other way around…… Who knows where we would end up…. J)
